Uppsala Kammarorkester

Swedish professional orchestra based in Uppsala. It is linked to the county music organization Musik i Uppland. The orchestra includes the Linné Quintet (brass quintet) and the Uppsala Chamber Soloists (string ensemble), as well as hired freelance musicians. The Uppsala Chamber Orchestra is led by the conductor Paul Mägi and concertmasters are Nils-Erik Sparf, Brusk Zanganeh and Klara Hellgren. The Uppsala Chamber Orchestra gives a series of concerts every year in the Uppsala Concert & Congress. The orchestra has also played at i.a. Drottningholm's palace theater and in the Storkyrkan and toured in Uppsala County and in Costa Rica. The Uppsala Chamber Orchestra has recorded several discs on Naxos (record label), including "Drottningholmsmusiken" by Johan Helmich Roman, which was awarded a gold disc in 2002.
