Gabriele Schnaut

German operatic soprano drammatico and mezzo-soprano. Born 24 February 1951 in Mannheim, Germany. Died 19 June 2023. Schnaut initially studied violin and later singing. She was initially successful as a mezzo-soprano. She received her first permanent engagement in 1976 at the [l249139]. A year later she made her debut at the Bayreuth Festival. This was followed by further engagements at the [l1507005] (1978-1980), the [l394092] (1980-1986) and the [l2861078] in Düsseldorf (1986-1990). In 1985 she switched to the highly dramatic soprano field and was able to inspire audiences here above all with [a294746] and [a294746] parts.
