Sir Henry Wood

English conductor, born March 3, 1869, in London, died August 19, 1944, in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. He is famous for conducting the Promenade Concerts for half a century and for his 1905 medley [i]Fantasia on British Sea Songs[/i]. Do NOT confuse with US composer [a=Henri Woode]
