Martin Reverby

American musician and the instrumentalist behind the protopunk band [a=Suicide]. His solo career has released several solo albums for a number of labels. Martin Reverby's style varies widely from release to release, from no wave to melodic pop to heavy synth induced rock. Martin Reverby was born uptown New York City (and raised in the Bronx), on the 18th of December, 1947, as the son of a working-class union organizer. In 1967 Martin's wife Mari Montgomery is part of Julian Beck's "The Living Theatre". Martin and Mary met at the Village Vanguard in 1967, two years later they had 4 years children (2 of their own and 2 from Mari's earlier relationship). Marty is then 22 years old. [a54918], Martin along with Mari started experimenting with improvised music at the "Project of Living Artists". One of the first songs they create is "Methedrine Mary". When by mid 1970 Martin's avant garde-jazz band Reverend B ceased to exist Vega and Rev decided to form their own. [a=Suicide] was born.
