John Evans (45)
John Evans is an American timpanist and percussionist at the [a3675541] from Naples, FL. John received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from The [l1900861] and a Master of Music degree from [l340655], where he was a student of Alan Abel, former associate principal percussionist of [a27519]. John has performed with [a27519], [a479036], the [a267530] and has served as timpanist/principal percussionist with the [a2977053] of Columbus, OH. He has appeared as soloist with the [a3675541], [a7055691], Tallahassee Symphony, Knightwind Ensemble of Milwaukee and The [a5204532]. As a student, he won the [l153566] individual mallet competition. John served 19 years as treasurer of the Florida Chapter of the Percussive Arts Society. He has twice been a featured clinician for the Percussive Arts Society International Convention, and he is a symphonic endorser and clinician for the Sabian Cymbal Corporation, Grover Pro Percussion and Remo Drumheads. He has been a member of the [a3675541] since 1989. Prior to his professional career he was a percussion player and staff member of the [a4610191] Drum & Bugle Corps from Bloomington, IN and the [a8590662] from Allentown, PA.
