Kalle Engstrøm

Norwegian jazz clarinetist, alto saxophonist and arranger, born October 5, 1908 in Oslo, Norway, died January 17, 1955. Played with local bands in Hamar before returning to Oslo in the late 1920s; at that time one of the finest jazz soloists in Norway. He belonged to the Funny Boys 1933-1939, and played and recorded with Bristolorkestret 1939-1946. Less active in music after 1945. For the Swedish producer, use [a=Kalle Engström].
