It was affiliated the American broadcasting station [l270438] (Rundfunk im amerikanischen Sektor / Radio in the American Sector). In 1956 the name was changed to Radio-Symphonie-Orchester Berlin. After the German reunion the name changed again to [a462180] in 1993. This was done to prevent mix-ups with the East-Berlin based [a796211].
