Col Edmonds

Australian country musician, Col Edmonds, was born on the 14th January 1938 on a cane farm 28kms north of Mackay, Queensland. At 17 years of age he made his first public appearance at local dances. In 1977 he won the Barcoo Bush Ballads Awards for song writing with "I'd Like To Be" and second with a song called "A Truckies Lament". He also won the Charters Towers section with a song called "The Farmers Song". Later on he won with another song called "Daylight Saving." In 1980 he made his first recording, "Country Songs and Bush Ballads"
