Petter Winnberg

Swedish musician, songwriter and music producer, born 19 November 1979. He is a member of the pop group Amason. He is the younger brother of the musician [a641063]. Their father, [a3979709], was a lecturer in music theory at the College of Stage and Music at the University of Gothenburg and has written books on music pedagogy. He studied at the Jazzgymnasiet in Gävle, where he got to know Nils Törnqvist. The two have since played together in a number of different constellations. Winnberg is married to the musician [a1974728] and together they have two children. The family lives in Näckenbäck, outside Avesta, where they run a small-scale farm. Together with his wife, since 2020 Winnberg organizes the Rockbonden concert concept with artists who play on their farm during the summer. Since his teens, Winnberg has played with Swedish jazz musicians and was previously a member of the pop group Little Majorette. He has also played with his brother Pontus Winnberg in Miike Snow, the Icelandic reggae band Hjálmar (both together with Nils Törnqvist), his own band Petter and the Pix and released a children's record. Since 2012 he is a member of Amason where he sings and plays bass. In 2017, he released the solo album The dog and the shepherd under the stage name Petter Sebastian. Winnberg has also produced and written songs for artists such as Veronica Maggio and Eva Dahlgren. Since 2007, he has a global publishing deal with Universal Music Group. He has written music for several advertising campaigns, for example for Mercedes Benz, Volvo and H&M.
