Katrina Leskanich

American musician and the former lead singer of the Grammy nominated pop rock band, [a19584], born April 10, 1960 in Topeka, Kansas, USA. The band released their first album in 1985 – it was a substantial critical and commercial success and "Walking on Sunshine," was a worldwide hit earning top ten spots around the globe. Since then, "Walking on Sunshine," has been broadcasted over 2,500,000 times in the U.S. and was the highest played track on UK radio in the summer of 2008 – 23 years after its release. Katrina & The Waves went on to have five more Top 40 singles including, "Love Shine a Light," which was their Eurovision winning song in 1997. "Love Shine A Light," won with the largest ever margin, followed by an unprecedented four consecutive appearances on Top of The Pops and a No. 3 in the UK Charts. Katrina & The Waves’ songs have been covered by The Bangles, Dolly Parton and Celine Dion, to name a few. The band toured worldwide until they split in 1998, when Katrina began her solo career, with her own show on BBC Radio 2 followed by a stint in musical theatre – where Katrina played the lead role in "Leader of the Pack," playing Ellie Greenwich and performing her hits from the 60s, "Be My Baby’," & ""River Deep," etc. Katrina then formed her own band and toured Europe, America and Australia and has written and recorded 4 studio albums, a live album and a "Best Of," album and published a travel guide – "Peggy Lee Loves London," with a follow up, "Peggy Lee Loves Cornwall," in 2021. Katrina's latest album, "Hearts, Loves & Babys", was released in August 2021.
