Brishen
Canadian gypsy-jazz band. The Brishen line-up includes lead guitarist and leader Quinn Bachand with Richard Moody, a veteran of the Canadian folk music scene, on violin and viola, Reuben Wier on rhythm guitar and vocals and Joey Smith on upright bass. A lover of collaborative work, Quinn Bachand enjoys switching up the line up to keep it fluid, dynamic and exciting. Brishen may at times feature such artists as Connor Stewart on clarinet and saxophone, Tim Croft or Max Ridley on upright bass, Aaron Watson on rhythm guitar and accordion and soulful vocalists Maureen Washington or Emily Braden. Quinn Bachand's Brishen is much more than a Django-esque cover band. Brishen recreates the magic of Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grappelli and the Hot Club de France and in the process brings gypsy jazz into the 21st century and to a whole new generation of discerning music lovers.
