David L. Miller

American arranger, labels owner, A&R producer, record manufacturer and distributor. Born: July 4, 1923 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Died: May 24, 1985 in London, England. Son of Albert Miller, founder of [l462509], he took over his father's company with his brother Paul in 1952, with which he produced and distributed the releases of his label [l121376]. Founder of budget labels like [l=Somerset] and [l=Europa] which were originally operated by his regional companies [l=Miller International Company] (based in Media, PA, 1957) and [l=Miller International Schallplatten GmbH] (based in Quickborn, Germany, 1961). In 1970 founded the UK based label [l141989]/[l=Stereo Gold Award] with [a1811868], often crediting itself as [a97323] on the label releases. As an arranger, he is often associated with [a646975], whom he is often credited with arranging classic songs (often using pseudonym [a1113342]), including on many [a22041] releases.
