Baby Grand was a pop/progressive rock band based in New York City. Their music drew comparisons to Steely Dan, Todd Rungren, and early Ambrosia. Baby Grand did 2 highly regarded albums for Arista before members splintered into other successes. Carmine Rojas went on to play with David Bowie. Eric Bazilian and Rob Hyman formed The Hooters and recycled a few Baby Grand songs for Patty Smyth and other artists they worked with.
