English pop singer / composer. Born 16. January 1945 in Prescot. Died 6 June 1977 (traffic accident). [b]Note:[/b] Credits that either are the real surname alone (or misspellings thereof) or include the real forename (or its initial) belong to the real name profile [i]Harold Stott[/i]. He wrote the original version of 'Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep'. Italy was the first country in which his record label, Philips, had a local hit with his version of the song. The song was a worldwide smash hit in 1971 when it was released by [a=Middle Of The Road]. He died on a Harley Davidson allegedly bought with the royalties of Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep.
