Sofie Asplund
Swedish-Finnish opera and musical singer (lyrical soprano), born 5 September 1985 in Stockholm. In 2018, Asplund sang the role of Zerbinetta in Ariadne at Naxos at the Gothenburg Opera - a role for which she was nominated for the Opera Prize by the magazine Opera. In the spring of 2019, she played the role of Constance in The Carmelite Sisters and Zerlina in Don Giovanni at the Royal Opera in Stockholm. She played Anne Truelove in Stravinsky's Rucklarens väg with Barbara Hannigan and the Munich Philharmonic and was on a European tour in the spring of 2019 with the Ludwig Orchestra. In September 2019, she appeared in the role of Susanna in Figaro's wedding at the Gothenburg Opera. Sofie Asplund was together with Peter Mattei vocal soloists in Brahms Ein deutsches Requiem at the Gothenburg Concert Hall in October. And at the Nobel festivities in December 2019, Sofie Asplund was a soloist in Stockholm's Concert Hall.
