Ian Simpson (12)

Australian Bluegrass & Country musician, plays banjo, guitar, dobro, pedal steel and double bass. Played in Bands with Slim Dusty, John Kane, Colin Buchanan, Bluegrass Parkway. Founding member of The Flying Emus Ian grew up in East Fremantle, Western Australia, and started playing classical piano as a kid, and got the banjo bug when he was about 14 years old. Ian moved to Sydney at 21 to tour with Slim Dusty and then went on to play in such bands as the Flying Emus, Sensitive New Age Cowpersons, Keith Urban, and Paul Kelly and the Stormwater Boys among others. In 2017 Ian landed a part playing the banjo in Ben Elton's 'Three Summers' movie, filmed locally in Western Australia.
