Juan Manuel De La Puente

Juan Manuel de la Puente (1692-1753) was a Spanish composer of the Baroque period. He was choirmaster of the Cathedral of Jaén between 1711 and 1753. His works with10-18 voices merge with expertise musical genres and techniques, typical of the Hispanic musical Baroque; such as the "Policoralismo", traditional chorus-songs, rhetorical resources, with modern features from Italian origin, without forgetting his proper stylistic elements as the virtuoso treatment of the bassoon.
