I Corvi

I Corvi (The Ravens) Italian beat band formed in Parma in 1965, began offering covers of British and American bands like their most popular song Un Ragazzo di Strada (I Ain't No Miracle Worker of Brogues) and performs with a raven perched on the headstock of the bass guitar, called Alfredo (in honor of their record producer). The original members were Angelo Ravasini (vocals, guitar), Fabrizio "Billo" Levati (guitar), Italo "Gimmi" Ferrari (bass), and Claudio Benassi (drums). Their first record and most popular song [i]Un Ragazzo di Strada[/i] was a rewriting of [i]I Ain't No Miracle Worker[/i] by the [a=Brogues]. In 1966, the group followed up with a version of [i]Bang, Bang[/i] and on the flip side, [i]Che Notte Ragazzi![/i] from the film of the same name directed by Giorgio Capitani. In late 1966, the band released their first album which included two covers of [a=Donovan] songs: [i]Colours[/i] and [i]To Try For The Sun[/i]. In 1967, they released [i]Sospesa ad un Filo[/i], a cover of [i]I Had Too Much to Dream Last Night[/i] by the [a=Electric Prunes] and [i]Bambolina[/i] a cover of [I]Any Day Now[/I] by [A=Burt Bacharach]. In 1968, they changed label and released [i]Datemi un Biglietto Di Aereo[/i], a cover of [i]The Letter[/i] by the [a=Box Tops] and [i]Questo E' Giusto[/i] a cover of [i]Morning Dew[/i] by the [a=Episode Six]. In 1969, co-founder of the band [a=Fabrizio "Billo" Levati] left the group and began a successful 30-year career as a club and radio-DJ.
