Ricky (2)

Named after the fond anacronym of the Rickenbacker guitar (Gary played a twelve string variety on most of the songs). Portsmouth based four-piece with a non-permanent drummer formed in the early 2000's, original guitarist (pictured on the debit mini-album) left and was replaced by Darren Richardson in 2003. They are known for their strong West Coast harmonies and are heavily 60s psychedelia influenced. They split untimely in 2006 after much hype and support from the press and national radio stations. Jim Lines, the lead singer, also appeared on a Radio One special about UK Ricky's hosted by Ricky Gervais. Jim founded Cooper-Noire clothing with the bands "bez" Craig Leworthy in 2010 and had a very short-lived "Streets" style band called the A2030, after the main road into Pompey, immediately following Ricky's demise. Guy runs his own label and production company.

Members: Guy Gyngell, Darren Richardson, Gary Rex, and James Lines (2)
