According to notes for The Leo Nahinahi Singers on Harry B. Soria's Territorial Airwaves website, "Edwina Noelani Kanoho Mahoe was teaching hula, Hawaiian music, and ukulele at various City parks in Honolulu." Her students included Ramona Noelani Akiona Teves and Ethelynne Kaleimokihana Soares Teves, and later Lynette Ka’opuiki Paglinawan, in time forming a women’s group that has lasted more than 50 years. Soria adds, "The Leo Nahenahe Singers are 2013 inductees into the Lifetime Achievement Awards of the Hoku Awards."
