Merv Shields

Mervyn was the singer in the Bushmills, Northern Ireland band The Suspects back in 1979-80, replacing Stephen Palmer on vocals (Line-up Arnold Bailey - Lead Guitar, Alan Mc Laughlin - Rhythm Guitar, Paul Bailey - Bass Guitar, John Scott - Drums). Shields moved to London in 1983 and joined Skrewdriver as bass player three years later, turning into a neo nazi skinhead. He played on three albums, White Rider, After the Fire and Warlord. He also played with other groups like Catch-22 and Brutal Attack. Died from Covid-19 on January 1, 2022. He was survived by his two sons, two sisters and his mum.
