Walker was a road manager for multiple Maurice Starr projects, particularly New Kids On The Block. His foray into music was hyped up by referring to him as the "bodyguard" for the New Kids, and a tale that putting him in a studio was a prank by the boys that went better than expected. In fact, Walker had been a background figure in LA and NYC music and entertainment scenes going back to the 1970s, in such roles as concert promoter, AMR, artist representative, and consultant, as well as minor background roles on TV.
