Cindy Bullens

American backup singer-turned-singer-songwriter, born on 21 March 1955. From 1979-2002, he was married to [a5837475], brother of [a=Bob Crewe]. In the mid-'70s, he found fame singing backup for artists including [a=Gene Clark], [a=Don Everly], [a=Rod Stewart], [a=Bryan Adams], [a=Elton John], and for the film soundtrack [i][url=https://www.discogs.com/master/97901-Various-Grease-The-Original-Soundtrack-From-The-Motion-Picture]Grease[/url][/i]. He also released solo music beginning with 1978's [i][m=Desire Wire][/i], which earned him a Grammy nomination for the single "Survivor". Label issues and family obligations would sideline his career, though he has continued to release albums and tour extensively. In 2012, Bullens came out as a transgender man, becoming a vocal LGBTQ+ advocate. He subsequently explored his transition in the 2016 one-man show [i]Somewhere Between – Not an Ordinary Life[/i] and on his 2020 album [i]Walkin' Through This World[/i].
