Magoo (5)

Magoo are based in Norfolk, UK, and have been a mainstay of the Norfolk/Norwich scene since the early 1990s. Influenced by bands such as Guided by Voices, Stereolab, Pavement, The Flaming Lips and a healthy dollop of John Peel (for who they recorded several sessions for his Radio 1 show), they have produced a distinct and developing style of alternative pop. They have released albums for [l=Noisebox], [l=Chemikal Underground] and [l=Global Warming]. Past and present members include Andrew Rayner, Owen Turner, Stacy Gow, Dave Lake, Adam Blackbourn, Rhys Harper, Gill Sandell, Stephen Gilchrist, David Bamford, Andrew Hodge, Chris Thorpe-Tracey, Jen Heagren, and Adam Maggots. Magoo record at and run Sickroom Studios in the Norfolk countryside, where band member Owen Turner has produced records for [a=Kaito (2)], [a=Bearsuit], [a=The Broken Family Band] and many others. They also have a label, Maygozero - which craftily contains their band name (Ma-go---o).

Members: Owen Turner, Stacy Gow, Andrew Hodge, David Bamford, Andrew Rayner, and Dave Lake
