Harold Melvin And The Blue Notes

American R&B/Soul, Funk and Disco male vocal quintet from Philadelphia, PA. Originally named [a=The Blue Notes (3)] from the mid-50s, they changed their name to "Harold Melvin And The Blue Notes" in the mid-60s. One of the original member [a=Bernard Williams (3)] then started his own group [a=The Original Blue Notes]. Became one of the most popular soul acts of the Philly soul scene of the '70s. Throughout their career they underwent several line-up changes. In the mid-70s, they split again and another group revived the original bandname, [a=The Blue Notes], formerly the backing band behind the ex-drummer/new lead singer [a=Teddy Pendergrass].
