Bogdan Czapiewski

Bogdan Czapiewski (b. 1949) is a prominent Polish pianist and professor at [l=Akademia Muzyczna W Gdańsku]. He studied with Zbigniew Śliwiński at Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk and [a=Jan Ekier] at the [l=Uniwersytet Muzyczny Fryderyka Chopina] in Warsaw. As a recipient of Kościuszko Foundation Scholarship, Czapiewski continued his training under [a=Gyorgy Sebok] at the Indiana University School of Music in Bloomington, USA. Throughout his career, Bogdan Czapiewski has been touring in Europe, North America, Asia, Russia, and Australia. He gave recitals at the [l=Philharmonic Hall St. Petersburg], [l=Palais Des Beaux-Arts, Brussels], [l=Tonhalle Zürich], [l=Salle Gaveau] in Paris, [l=Magyar Állami Operaház] in Budapest, [l=Tivoli Koncertsalen, Copenhagen] and other prestigious concert venues around the world. In 1975, Czapiewski won first prizes at Ferruccio Busoni Competition in Bolzano and Viana da Motta Competition in Lisbon. He also received the Montreal Music Competition (1976) award, as well as the Grand Prix du Disque Liszt at the International Record Competition (1987) in Budapest.
