Eleni Karousaki, was born and raised in Athens, although her origin is from the island of Chios. As a child, she still remembers listening to Greek music, with a particular preference for folk songs. There was always music at home and because of her father [a939449], she learned to sing from her first steps. Her first appearance in front of a crowd took place at a school party at the age of just 15, thus gaining her "first" fans through an one-hour program. She began studied journalism, but professionally, her first contact with the song took place long after, in the album of George Zambetas, entitled [m1102033] (A Thousand Doves) where he sang three songs.
