Rusty Hurren

Born 13 July 1921 in Ipswich, Suffolk, England, he won a talent contest at the age of 13 in his hometown. He served in the Royal Artillery during World War 2, then joined [a=Lou Preager]'s band, with whom he recorded a number of sides. Hurren left the band in 1950 and went back to Ipswich. He then joined the Arthur Williamson Band, which played around East Suffolk. A resident of Diss, Norfolk, he died in Ipswich on 4 July 1990, aged 68.
