Carlos Roqué Alsina

Argentina born French composer, pianist and teacher (* February 19, 1941 in Buenos Aires, Argentina; † August 5, 2023 in Paris, France), Carlos Roque Alsina began his piano career at the age of six as a soloist under the direction of conductors Otto Klemperer, Jascha Horenstein, Manuel Rosenthal, Ernest Bour, Michel Tabachnik or Gilbert Amy. As a composer, his ouvre consists of amore than 120 compositions. He has collaborated with Iannis Xenakis, Elliot Carter, Luciano Berio or Bruno Moderna. In 1972 he co-founded the avant-improv ensemble [a1005861] with [a177342], [a199202] & [a495002]. After many years in Berlin he settled 1972 in France. Since 1978, in parallel to his activities as pianist and composer he had devoted himself to teaching (he had taught piano at the Conservatoire national supérieur musique et danse de Lyon for nine years) and also taught as a guest professor at several European institutions.
