DJ Pierre

DJ, producer, club owner and promoter from Chicago, Illinois. Pioneered the acid house sound with [a=Phuture] in the mid-to-late 1980s. Signed to [l=Jive] in the late 1980s by former [l=Trax Records] A&R [a=Wayne Williams]. Moved to New York in 1990 where he created the looped-up, layered 'wild pitch' style inspired by the parties thrown by DJs [a=Greg Daye] and [a=Bobby Konders]. A&R at [l=Strictly Rhythm] from February 1992 to April 1994. Founded [l=DJP Records] in 1999 and Afro Acid Muzik ([l=Afro Acid Plastik]) in April 2007. Moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 2008 and currently based in Duluth.
