Annika Skoglund

Swedish opera singer (soprano, mezzo-soprano) and jazz singer, born 5 November 1960 in Vänersborg, Annika Skoglund grew up in Bengtsfors, and in the 1980s she studied opera singing at the Gothenburg School of Opera, while also performing with the jazz group Opposite Corner and the Christian rock group Salt. Since then, she has had leading opera roles in, for example, Carmen, Figaro's Wedding and Madama Butterfly on stages such as the Royal Opera in Stockholm, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Norwegian Opera in Oslo, the Gothenburg Opera, and Drottningholm's Castle Theater, as well as at the Wexford Opera Festival. Skoglund is also a sought-after concert singer and has performed with orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Radio Symphony Orchestra in Stockholm, American Symphony Orchestra, and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. She has released the duo records "Duende" with Love Derwinger on piano and "Harawi" with Carl-Axel Dominique on piano.
