Árbol

Founded in 1994 by [a=Matías "Chávez" Méndez], Árbol is an argentine alternative rock band notorious for combining varied genres and instrumentation into their sound, ranging from rock and pop to latin music. They released their first album, [r=5461969], independently in 1996. A copy of the album would later reach to [a=Gustavo Santaolalla], who upon listening signed the band to [l=Surco] and became their producer. However, both Méndez and bassist [a=Patricio Pizarro] decided to leave the group at this point. Following the incorporation of two new members, the band would then re-record most of their original album for a self-titled major label debut in 1999. Following two highly successful albums, international tours and a live DVD, composer and multi-instrumentist [a=Edu Schmidt] left the band in 2006 to pursue a solo carrer. The band moved to [l=PopArt Discos] producing their following works by themselves, and [a=Diego Velázquez] became an official member in 2009 to perform most of the instruments that Schmidt used to play with them. After going into hiatus since 2010, Árbol announced their return in August 2017.
