Hägerstens Motettkör

Swedish motet choir from Hägersten, Stockholm, founded by Ingemar Månsson in 1965. The choir was under Månsson's leadership for three decades and was one of Sweden's most important choirs. Operations ceased in 1995. The choir mainly specialized in works by contemporary composers, but also performed the great classical oratorios. The choir has premiered a large number of works by Sven-David Sandström, who sang in the choir for 25 years. The motet choir undertook many choral tours in Sweden, in neighboring countries and in Germany, Italy, Hungary, the USA and Canada. In June 1988, Hägerstens motet choir was invited to The First New York International Festival of the Arts with concerts, among others, in Saint John the Divine. The choir's last concert was held in Roskilde Cathedral on June 22, 1995.
