Хор Ленинградского Радио И Телевидения

Chorus of Leningrad Radio and Television. Established in 1934, and worked with different conductors including [a=Авенир Михайлов] = Avenir Mikhailov and [a=Исаак Дунаевский] = Issac Dunayevsky until [a=Григорий Сандлер] = Grigoriy Sandler became the main conductor in 1954. Note: For the Folk Instruments Orchestra of Leningrad Radio, please use [a=Оркестр Народных Инструментов Ленинградского Комитета Радиоинформации] Since 1934, the choir of the Leningrad Radio Committee has changed its name more than once, following the parent organization: the word “television” was added to it, the emphasis shifted - and the Choir of Leningrad Radio and Television became the Choir of Leningrad Television and Radio, and in the fall of 1991 it became the Choir of the Television and Radio Company “ Petersburg". In 1993, a clarification was added to the name of the company - and the choir: “Channel 5”. The collective's departmental affiliation remained until a change in the form of ownership in 1998: the state television and radio company was transformed into an Open Joint Stock Company, which entailed the notorious reduction of entire divisions necessary in the broadcasting process - including artistic groups. The choir did not escape this fate either. In 1998, the Mikhailovsky Theater took him under its wing, first as a Concert Choir. In 2007, the Concert Choir was merged with the Opera Choir under the general artistic direction of Vladimir Stolpovskikh. The main mission of the choir is to participate in opera performances. But Stolpovskikh prepares concert programs with the choristers. The choir also performs at the St. Petersburg Philharmonic. Still, this is a different team. And the 64-year history of the Leningrad-Petersburg Radio and Television Choir ended in 1998.
