Judy Dunlop

A member of the Albion Band in the early-1990s, Judy Dunlop has remained one of traditional and contemporary British folk music's top vocalists. Her debut solo 1991 outing, Sway With Me, paired her with Ashley Hutchings and included such guests as Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick. Subsequent recordings have included an album of lullabies, My Arms Are A Cradle and an album, I Want Something, with guitarist Jon Scaife of American acoustic music group, Gypsy Reel. Dunlop collaborated with teacher, composer, performer and publisher Steve Marsh in the late-1980s. Performing from the age of thirteen, Dunlop displayed talent in a variety of mediums. She attracted national attraction as a dancer in the BBC program, Feet First, in the mid-1980s, and the voice of BBC Channel 5 special, X-mas Files, in 1999. Currently based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, Dunlop continues to perform in a duo with Scaife. She renewed her involvement with Hutchings in the early-2000s, appearing on his album, Street Cries in 2002.
