DJ SARASA makes her appearance as one of the 30 Top Class DJs in ”The Philharmonic Turntable Orchestra”, the first big scaled DJ orchestra ensemble ever created using only Technics Turntables and mixer. This commercial becomes viral and posters were put up all over subway stations across Japan, winning the silver metal of cleo awards DJ SARASA is an internationally-acclaimed DJ from Tokyo, Japan who is known for her skillful ability to crossover Funk, Disco, Soul, Breakbeats and House music and has even impressed Grammy-winning artist, Questlove of The Roots. After witnessing her perform for the first time in Tokyo, Japan he tweeted “DJ SARASA is an ill DJ…” She has performed in countries all over the world including Japan, Canada, USA, Mexico, Australia, Germany, UAE, Korea, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India for more than a decade. Her latest tour with Hip Hop legends The Beatnuts (Japan Tour) and Talib Kweli (EU Tour) was a great success. DJ SARASA has supported numerous big international music acts in Japan such as George Clinton during his Japan show at Billboard Tokyo and The Roots at Blue Note Tokyo and organized events for Grandmaster Flash, DJ Scratch (EPMD) and many more. She has also backed up live performances of The Beatnuts, Talib Kweli and Illa J, the younger brother of the late J Dilla. Other artists she performed along with include a wide variety of artists such as Beat Junkies, Pete Rock, DJ Premier, Lauryn Hill, Common, Biz Markie, Mayer Hawthorne, MIA, The Brand New Heavies, DJ Snake, Skrillex, David Guetta and more. DJ SARASA appears on national TV educating children about Hip Hop culture and self-expression such as on ETV- E Dance Academy. Furthermore, she has been asked to make a speech at Aizu University as a guest speaker. She has been featured in several music videos including "Rise of the Ghostface Killah" by Ghostface Killah, "Turnt Up" by Talib Kweli and "Delicious na kinyoubi" by Crystal Kay. After a successful solo career, DJ SARASA formed XXX$$$ (pronounced "excess"), an international bass music unit with Ukrainian producer and artist, XLII in 2013. XXX$$$'s early live performances received such great reviews that they immediately got booked to perform for several series of Ultra Music Festival, one of the largest international electronic music festival movements that started in Miami, Florida. They have performed for the main stage of Ultra Japan and Ultra Music Festival Korea at the Seoul Olympic Stadium in 2014, and shared the same main stage as David Guetta, Skrillex and DJ Snake in 2015 at Ultra Japan. DJ SARASA is also known as a fashion icon and trendsetter and has collaborated on a bag design "Bag of Noise" with the finest Japanese Bag brand, Master-Piece. The series were displayed in the window display of LUMINE MAN in Shibuya and became short of stockage immediately after release. SARASA also has her own lifestyle brand, Mynority Classics. Mynority Classics received world recognition in 2012 when they produced their "Hip Hop Playing Cards" and was featured on prominent street wear online media sites such as The Source and Hypebeast. Talib Kweli also endorsed them in his music video "Turnt Up" (2013). DJ SARASA is the Creative Director of "Hip Hop Friends", a series of digital online stickers for LINE, a social media application for the mobile phone. "Hip Hop Friends" ranked as the #1 top selling sticker series for LINE in America and has expanded to 20+ countries including the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Russia and Kazakhstan. DJ SARASA is also affiliated with the high end fashion scene in Japan and was the host DJ for "Vogue Fashion Night Out" and has hosted a variety of fashion industry parties and brand launches. Major clients include brands such as Louis Vuitton, FURLA and Rugby by Ralph Lauren. Furthermore her Party “SPEAKEASY TYO”, held every 1st Sunday of every month has become one of the most acclaimed party of Japan with Top Class DJ line up at different unique places in Tokyo such as the bowling alley, on the boat, at a rooftop of a department store with no entrance fee. With the mission to provide a place for people to come together no matter what status they are (income, interest, nationality, age, gender, music preferences), “SPEAKEASY TYO” is by far the most popular international family event. DJ SARASA also encountered her first tacos during her world tour in Mexico. After falling in love with tacos, she felt the need for Japanese people to try a bite of what she had. In May 2017, DJ SARASA opened her authentic Mexican restaurant “Casa De Sarasa”. Many media featured the healthy, gluten-free corn tortilla tacos at the restaurant. “Casa De Sarasa” is open every day.
