Hamburger Ratsmusik

The beginnings of Hamburg Ratsmusik date back to the 16th century when the city of Hamburg kept an elite ensemble of eight musicians able to compete with many court chapels. Reawakened in 1991 by the German violist [a=Simone Eckert], the ensemble has specialised in music of the 16th - 18th centuries.
