Krister St Hill

Trinidadian-Swedish opera singer (baritone), born October 30, 1962. St. Hill broke through as Richie in A Chorus Line at the Oscars Theater. He then made his opera debut as Escamillo in Stockholm Park Theater's production of Bizet's Carmen in 1982. It was soon followed by roles such as Sancho Panza in Massenet's Don Quichotte Ernesto in Haydn's Life on the Moon and Nick Shadow in Stravinsky's Rucklarens väg. In 1989, St. Hill rolls like Donny in Michael Tippett's last opera New Year when it had its world premiere at the Houston Grand Opera. In that role, he also debuted at the Glyndebourne Festival Opera after years, and studio filming for the BBC and a concert performance in the Royal Festival Hall. Other opera productions use roles such as Ping in Turandot and Shaunard in La Bohème by Puccini and Ned Keene in Benjamin Britten's Peter Grimes, all at the Royal Theater in Copenhagen and Lord Sidney in Rossini's Journey to Reims.
