Lasse Westmann

Swedish singer and guitarist, born 13 February 1948 in Stockholm, died 30 January 2004 in Täby. In the years 1990–2004 he was part of the dance band Vikingarna. He died in the suites of lymph node cancer. Westmann decided to become a guitarist at the age of 13. Westmann started his career as a 15-year-old in the pop group Bobas and the Deamonds in the Stockholm suburb of Kärrtorp, the group played at youth farms, among other places. He was a singer in the group Michael Salt & Pepper during the group's tour in Mexico in 1971. Together with [a5228212], he participated in the Swedish Melodifestivalen 1982 with the melody "Här har du din morgondag". It finished in a split sixth place. Westman sang in the choir in the 1984 edition of the melody festival. During the 1980s, he also started playing with Vikingarna. From 1990 he was a permanent member. He was considered to have played a key role in the band. In 1991 he released a solo album with Vikingarna as backing band. He was also a record producer for Thorleifs, among others.
