Candy Rae
Born in 1946 Philadelphia, PA Rachel L. Holden performed from an early age in gospel congregations. She relocated to Los Angeles in the early 1970's and backed Jimmy McGriff, Kool and The Gang, Bonnie Floyd and The Untouchables. In 1972 Candy was signed to [a=George Semper]s [l=Inner City Records (3)] and duetted with [a=Ron Kenoly] for the hit single ‘Lovely Weekend/ Plastic Situation', her only known record release. She continued to perform on the Los Angeles nightclub and show circuit until the 1980s.
